Consulting

Enplas partners with clients to bring microfluidic product ideas and prototypes to mass production.

Working on a PDMS or soft embossing prototype and considering a manufacturing ramp-up? Enplas recommends material and design options for the manufacturability and functionality of your chips. This includes controlling noise from autofluorescence; controlling flow and/or size of droplets; reducing cross-contamination by proposing microfluidic valve and pump structures; and more. Our clients have access to Enplas’s proprietary technology, developed from years of R&D in microfluidic device fabrication.

Quick Prototyping

Glass or PDMS is often used for prototyping microfluidic devices. However, the functional effects of changing to plastics are sometimes forgotten when moving to the injection molding process for mass production. This mistake can lead to defective devices, additional design iterations, and increased investment—and it ultimately delays the distribution of the device.

To prevent these issues, Enplas provides quality rapid prototyping prior to the production of molds used for mass manufacturing.

Manufacturing

Enplas can mass produce your parts and ship them around the world.

With the extremely high standard of precision required for microfluidics, large-volume production often sacrifices quality or cost efficiency. With Enplas, you can achieve both quality and quantity: we can maintain channel depth variation of ± 1um or less with production of a million microfluidics annually.

Our expertise in inspection, including fully automated inspection of channel depth and particle detection, can solve any quality assurance concerns. Processes from manufacturing to inspection are typically conducted in class 6 or class 7 cleanrooms, depending on customer needs.

You can even have your entire device assembled at Enplas: we offer bonding of multiple chips by various methods, production of non-microfluidic parts, and assembly of all those devices, either with automation or intricate by-hand-only assembly.

Product Support

Infrequently, a microfluidics chip manufactured to exact specifications does not perform in the way it is intended. With over 10 years of microfluidics experience, we can help discover the cause of any issues your parts may be having with your current manufacturer.
